I would like to set Call Forward on no answer to dial out to a number using Realm 2. I've attempted to prefix the number with 2*, and also put the number in the Routing Realm 2 prefix, but the forwarded calls are still made using the Realm 1 provider.

Can the MVA11A forward calls using Realm 2? If so, what is the correct way to set this up?

Incoming Pstn Calls

Hi, I am having a spot of trouble getting the ATA set up as I want to. My main issue is that when an incoming PSTN call to our non-VOIP DID is received, it doesn't ring on the phone connected to the ATA. I have to have another phone connected straight to another phone socket thus we have one phone for incoming and one for outgoing through VOIP. Is this possible, and if so, how? Thanks

Using 2 X Mva11a To Extend Analogue Line Over Lan

Hi,

I have bought 2 x MVA11A's and I am trying to use them to extend an Analogue line over a network to a building without copper lines.
There are examples for how to do this with a SPA3000 and it has been suggested that the MVA11A can do this but I am unable to
set the Minitar up the same.
So far I have the two units at either end of the network, the Analogue line is running into the LINE port of the first unit and the unit
at the opposite end has the phone conencted into the phone port. The Phone only needs to dial out, there is no requirement for dial in.

Can anyone provide some help or have I got the wrong product? Any assistance would be greatly appeciated.

Many thanks,

SimonP

Mva11a

I've had the MVA11A for a year or so from JMG. The firmware is 30. My problem is that although I want to use 2 Providers [Pennytel and Freshtel] I've always had huge problems in getting Freshtel to register. A few months ago I managed to change Freshtel to Provider 1 and then found I could not register Pennytel as P.2 For various reasons I've just re-registered Pennytel as P.1 [successfully, but after a series of failures], and now I can't register Freshtel as P.2. In fact if I try, it de-registers Pennytel as well! I'm getting heartily fed up. Can anyone solve my problem please?

How To Place *10# In Dial Plan For Fxo

Is it possible to add *10# into the FXO dial plan? The only way I can get it to work is to dial 0* wait and second and then dial *10#. This is a bit of a pain as sometimes I forget to dial 0* first.

E-mail Initiated Callback

I'm not a big fan of DID numbers. Here's a feature suggestion: E-mail initiated callback.

In the phone book speed dial section, add an extra field for the e-mail address of each contact. Start up a simple e-mail server to accept incoming messages.

When any of your contacts sends an e-mail to your ATA, the ATA checks the sender against the list and if found, starts your handset ringing. When you answer, the ATA tells you which speed dial entry wants to talk to you, e.g. "five" and if you don't hang up within a few seconds, calls the contact for you, as if you had pressed 5#.

That way people who don't have VoIP on their mobiles can call you via e-mail. Instead of paying for a DID subscription you pay VoIP rates to provide a reverse charge service for your friends.

Provider 1 Vs. Direct Ip Dialling

A couple more MVA11A anomalies, firmware iLBC_0030.

1) When direct IP dialling, the MVA11A identifies itself to the call recipient as
<Provider1UserName>@<IP.address>. Why? Surely this should be
<HostName>@<IP.address> using the hostname from the WAN Settings page, or perhaps
<UserName>@<IP.address> using the web management user login name (which defaults to "user").
The Provider 1 User Name is sent even when Provider 1 is disabled (Active:Off).

2) In the case where a single VoIP service is configured as Provider 1 (Active:On) but the VoIP provider suffers an outage, the dial tone is replaced with the congestion tone, which seems reasonable. However, in that condition, direct IP dialling is no longer possible(!) Usually the MVA11A can call IP phones from the Speed Dial list using just the Network WAN Settings, so it shouldn't matter that the VoIP proxy server is down.

Cheers.

Mva11a No Gateway Setting In Lan

Hi there,
This seems like a really basic question and has probably been asked a million times... So apologies upfront. I am trying to connect my MVA11A to a network via a network switch. I have set a fixed ip and can access it via a web page interface no problems. However there doesn't seem to be a place to put the Gateway which is 192.168.1.254 it just keeps using the set IP as the Lan Gateway which is 192.168.1.15 so it doesn't seem to be getting the internet... am I missing something? Any thoughts welcome.

Just to clarify I am not using the ATA voip as a modem its just being connected to my LAN network which already has a router on it connecting to the internet.

Dnd Not Turning Off And Login Problems

Hi,

I've just got my new MVA11A up and running. Seems to work fine and the call quality is great. Did notice two problems though.

On Ubuntu & Chrome, I can't login to the device. I put the username and password in but nothing. I then tried Ubuntu Firefox and it works fine.

DND on the Minitar does not seem to work. I set my DND to turn on at 21:00 and off at 06:00 (DND is on between 9:pm and 6 am). When you pick up the phone you hear two beeps and then a dial tone. So I guess the ATA is telling you DND is active. At 06:45, I still hear the two beeps, so for some reason it has not turned off.

Can someone confirm these issues?

Forgot to say, latest firmware (030).

Mac Overwritten By Settings Backup/restore

When using the settings backed up from one MVA11A to configure additional unit(s) the MACs of all units end up matching the MAC of the original. Is this intentional? I can see how that may be useful when replacing a faulty unit, although it shouldn't usually be necessary to duplicate the MAC in addition to any IP address settings. However, if what you're trying to do is add extra ATAs to a network then you certainly don't want the MACs to be identical.

Perhaps the MAC could be opened up for editing in the WAN Settings page.

Billion 5200n With Mwnapr-1

Hey, I just purchased a Minitar MWNAPR-1 for the purpose of connecting to an existing wireless network (Billion 5200N) so a computer and xbox 360 can be on the network. The 5200N is in another room, and rather than purchasing a wireless card for the 360 and computer, I thought I would get one of these MWNAPR-1s to connect to both.

So it goes Wireless from 5200N to MWNAPR-1, then CAT cables from the MWNAPR-1 to the computer and 360.

From what I can tell I can use Bridge-Point to Point, Bridge-Point to Multipoint or Bridge-WDS.

My question is if I set one of these techniques up on the minitar, do I have to do anything on the 5200N? I'm playing around with these settings on my WRT300N (the 5200N is a clients), and I'm not having much luck. The settings on the minitar seem to be fine, so I was wondering if I need to do anything on the original wireless device.

Also, does Minitar have a phone number I can get support from?

Thanks.

I've got a T200 phone plugged into the MVA11, a Billion 5200 with port 5060 forwarded to the ATA. Nodephone is the provider. Incoming calls (PSTN-VOIP) work fine, but on outgoing (VOIP-PSTN) the called party can't be heard. They can hear me though. I've switched off the firewall on the router, but no change. Internode said it was probably a port forwarding or firewall issue, but I'm not sure what else to change. Any relevant suggestions welcome!
