I'm having trouble setting up a Minitar MN54G4R router/wap with a D-Link DSL-302G ADSL Modem. I can connect the modem directly to a PC and configured it with username etc. for my ISP and it connects OK.
If I plug the modem in to the router and configure it as PPPoE with the same username, password it doesn't connect and I'm not sure where to go from here.
Any help/suggestions appreciated.

Hi there,

You want to put your DSL-302G in "bridged" mode. This mode tells the modem to just forward all data to the router and such the router will then handle the login, etc.

Are you an Optus DSL customer ? Just need to know incase you are using one of their "altered" DSL-302G's.

Thanks,
S.

Thanks for that serialmonkey, I'll give that a try.
My ISP is Westnet.

I spoke to my ISPs (Westnet) Tech Support and a lady there emailed me a copy of the DLink document on setting up the modem in bridged mode with a router. This solved my problems. My client is now so impressed with the MN54G4R they're going to order one for another small site of theirs.

Sorry, I am going to re-arrange the FAQ threads so that this answer would have been easier to find. I actually have posted the answer in another thread, but due to the FAQ forum being clutter, I cannot find it.

So for the benfit of yourself and others, I am doing a tidy up tonight so this info is easier to find.
