Hi everybody!

I have a big problem.
I tried to update my minitar acces point. My mistake was to update through the wireless link. During the update the link had broken so now I have a broken ap. What can I do now? Is there a chance to save my ap? sad.gif

Possible that you maybe able to factory reset the unit and gain access, however you may have killed it.

Press the reset button for 10 seconds to factory reset the unit. Try to make a Wired connection to it after you do that

I tried to reset but it didn't work.
It's really dead?
Can I flash the chip with special equipment?

It is possible to reflash the units via the serial console and TFTP but this requires opening the unit and voiding the warranty, but if your unit is out of warranty (or the place you purchased it from won't accept it as a return due to the way you updated the firmware) then it may be your only choice.

Hi there,

Minicom will need to be connected with the settings 8N1 and 38400 baud.

For instructions on how to manually flash it's best to wander over and ask the guys at http://rtl8181.sourceforge.net.
