In the latest firmware, if you click the clone mac button, it copies the MAC address of the client PC accessing the web page, which isn't always the client coming in via the wired network. For example, if you connect to the config web page over the wireless network and click clone mac, it takes the mac address of my desktop pc, which isn't phsyically plugged in to the access point (my xbox is).

True, but unfortunatly that is the only way the unit can know the MAC address of the client. If this isn't the correct address then the user has to enter it in manually. Havn't got one in front of me at the moment but if it won't let you enter it manually let me know

Yep it does let you enter it in manually.

The problem is, if you clone your mac over the wireless interface, you'll lose connectivity, since you'll have 2 ethernet devices with the same MAC address.

I know about it now, so it's not going to affect me again! biggrin.gif

Yeah, with things like that you are best to clear your ARP cache afterwards - not as if you are going to be turning clone on/off at regular intervals :-)
