Hi I have noticed that with a couple of minitars the pressed in gold antenna connectors have popped out, even when just finger tightening rpsma coax extension cables to them. They push back in ok but tend to pop out again very easily. has anyone noticed this?

Not on any of the test units I have seen. If it causes you grief contact your place of purchase and organise an exchange.

i have had the same i just resoldered the outer case around the area that holds that part in

As soon as i got my first Minitar it happened to me and a few times after, I pushed it in real hard and it works fine and now the thing is in a fixed location.

I found out that it has happened to many others when talking to others. One of them just soldered it in place.

The outer thread can come out after some use of the connector and can also make the white bit of plastic inside between the outer thread and the core to come out easy and could get lost.
It looks like the outer thread is a separate peice from the main peice on the PCB

I have pics somewhere if i find them ill post them.

If you guys have problems then please contact your place of purchase.

Note though that it may be hard for you to get a replacement other than a refund at the moment as the unit has been discontinued as otherwise noted on the forums.

probably a tiny drop of superglue should fix it I reckon. I thought of soldering it as well but was concerned about warranty.
Didz
Superglue wouldnt make it say put. Imagine eletronic components being put together with it blink.gif

Being part of a comunity wireless network where we bulk buy them i dont think we can refund them, they are easilly fixable if you know a little about soldering and are quite cheap. Even though it has happend to everyone they still work flawlessly.

serialmonkey have you ever tried some "tough love" and attemped to put out the antenna? if they are simply indoors like a office with just included antenna then usally it wont be a problem to anyone as its set and forgotten.

Here is those pics i said ill post if i find, i put them together as one image.

If it does happen make sure you dont loose the bits!

Thought I had loved mine pretty hard (that just sounds wrong). As they have been apart and put back together now quite a few times with the antenna on and off.

Perhaps there was a problem with a couple of batches.
