Have testet two units of just received AP 802.11/b/g/g+ with SOHO chipset.

One of them I can't ping or get any contact with. Have tried to reset the unit.

The other one asks for login and password?? Can't find it anywhere?!

It's two totally new units, hope for a solution before we start selling them??!

Best Regards,

Thomas

Where can I purchase one of these! Not @ PCRange yet..
screwball
Thats because Serial and I are the only two in the country with this unit at the moment.

They will be on sale soon.

Here are the specs they were added to the site today

Do you have a price range?
screwball
None as yet... PCRange will have them on their site with a RRP as soon as they are ready to be sold.

I understand that MNWAPGR is the replacement for MNWAPB. But what is the difference in features between MNWAPGR and MN54G4R? Is MN54G4R still the best Minitar option for a home network (a couple of PCs and a printer)? Sorry for the n00b questions - I'm new to this wireless networking stuff.
DiGiTaLeX
Yes, the new one supports up to 54mbits and even has ethernet ports to plug into. It is compatable with linking to the old model too.

The only things It doesn't have (to my knowledge) is client mode

Just making sure - by "the new one" you mean MNWAPGR yes?
I should have also mentioned that a "print server" feature is important (hence my initial interest in MN54G4R).
DiGiTaLeX
I heard about the print server somewhere, but cant see it on the features page located Here

This unit does not have a print server.

The unit is actually more comparable to both the MNWAPB and the MN54G4R

1. This model has a detach able RP-SMA Antenna

2. Have pppoe and big pond compatiblity.

3. Can route to multple subnets (MN54G4R could not do this)

4. Supports WDS, UPnP, Scheduling and a few other nifty features.

So basically we got a bit out of one unit and a bit out of the other, added routing and have this unit. Best of both world really.

I currently have mine and my MN54G4R in WDS mode so that I can mesh my duplex with the in laws next door. With the two going, seemless connectivity anywhere.

So with WDS-Bridge (including the minitar "B" access point) can you walk from one to the other and the connection swaps over automatically without causing disturbance to any network connections?
screwball
I have had no problems walking from one AP to the other. DHCP is disabled on the MN54G4R and the new unit is providing DHCP Leasing via the WDS... works really nice actually.
