Bought a Asus router AP WL-500g (with WDS) to place in in our network with 4 Minitar AP's.

The Asus AP seems not to work when I select a different channel for every AP.
But if I put the ASUS on the same channel as one of the Minitars it connects with that one.

The problem is that I want to use the ASUS to be connected to the main antenna that connects to al the four Minitars. The Minitars though don't seem to like being put on the same channel all together. blink.gif And stop working.

How to solve this problem?

What mode are the Minitar's MNWAPB in (I assume they are WDS)? What mode is the Asus in?

All the Minitars (MNWAPB) are in AP Bridge-WDS. And the Asus is in the Hybrid mode (a WDS, repeater AP mode)

If you are bridging between all the Minitar's then they should all be on the same channel with the same ESSID. Are the Minitar's all participating in the same logical bridge ?

I hope I understand you.

The Minitars are all getting their signal from one (master) Minitar, which is connected to the ADSL modem.

All the minitars inclusive the master Minitar must be able to talk to 3 or more (computer) clients.

It is not neccesary for all the minitars to talk with each other, exept with the master MT.

Is this what you mean by: "participating in the same logical bridge "?

Okay, lets put it this way. Are you using the same network address for all machines and AP in your network ? (i.e. are they all 192.168.1.*). If so, everything should be bridged together - all AP's (including the master) should have the same channel and ESSID.

If you are routing between the networks at each AP (which I don't think you are from the way you have described it) then you would want to terminate each wireless link seperatly.

All the Minitars and the one Asus are normally in the same IP range that is 192.168.0.* That is inclusive the master MT.

I configured them all with the same ESSID and on the same channel like you said. After I have done that and resetted all the machines manually. The whole system drops out. It is not possible anymore for the Minitars to connect to eachother.

Also client machines connected straight to the master MT, can connect to the MT AP but there is no internet connection anymore.

All the Minitars (& Asus) have a different IP adresses. (i.e. 192.168.0.*)
Subnetmask is 255.255.255.0
Gateway is 192.168.0.1
DHCP is disabled (the modem has a router that provides the DHCP)

Wat can I try more?

I'm assuming that every WDS device (each Minitar plus your other router) has the MAC address of every other WDS device listed in it's config ?

Thanks for that. There is some inprovement.
All the minitars seem to connect to the client stations and to the other MT's.

The following problem occurs now. The speed is very slow, so slow even the a simple internet page like google takes 1 minut to come up.

What can do about this, within this setup?

Have you tried extended pings to see what the speed is like ? Do you see any packet loss ? Is the slowness just accessing the Internet or local machines on the WLAN as well ?
